Borrow Before I Buy

Why buy something I will only use once or a few times if someone nearby has it for me to borrow, and why not share something I have that someone may only need a few times a year? To reduce my consumption and waste, I will create or support the sharing economy with friends, family, colleagues or neighbors.

I feel like I make the world a better place when litter isn’t strewn all over the areas I frequent. I also believe I set an example for others when they see me picking up litter. If everyone would pitch in a little each day it would make a noticeable difference.

I am a member of our local Buy Nothing group and actively participate in both gifting and asking within my group.it has been a blessing for us since we lost our home in 2021 after a flood. I have developed friendships I normally would not have.
