Rosario's actions
Biodiversity + Wildlife
Grow Local
I will research and plant a garden filled with native fruits, vegetables, and flowers to nurture local wildlife and ecosystems. I will find nearby nurseries that offer plants native to my area.
Biodiversity + Wildlife
Use Reusable Bags
Plastic bags can be mistaken for food by many wild animals and can end up in habitats that harm wildlife. I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases, including produce bags.
Land + Forests
Compost Food Waste
Food in the landfill is one of the main sources of greenhouse gasses. I will avoid sending up to .69 lbs (.31 kg) of food waste to the landfill per day by composting my food.
Biodiversity + Wildlife
Leave No Trace
I will respect and protect biotic communities by practicing the seven principles of Leave No Trace whenever I am outside.
Freshwater + Oceans
Use a Reusable Water Bottle
It's estimated over a billion water bottles are thrown away each year. Even if they were recycled, that still uses energy and resources from the earth. I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 3 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.

REFLECTION QUESTIONBiodiversity + WildlifeEducator Stephanie Kaza advises her students to focus on what they care about most when addressing the enormity of ecological problems. Is there a specific area you feel particularly called to work on?
Rosario Bronda 4/02/2024 3:29 PMI am interested in improving the way our household manages food waste. My goal is to minimize it as much as possible, ideally reducing it to none at all. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBiodiversity + WildlifeHow difficult was this challenge for you? What made it easy or difficult?
Rosario Bronda 4/02/2024 3:25 PMIt is easy as I am already doing it. During the market day, I always make sure to bring 3 or 4 bags with me.
